February 21, Tuesday (General Meeting)
As an active member of two quilt guilds, and two smaller quilting groups, Diane has been involved in numerous group projects over the years. With her presentation Group Quilts: Block exchanges, Round Robins and Challenges, Diane will share her experiences of participating in group projects. She will bring examples from group projects she’s been part of, showing different, interesting interpretations each quilter came up with.  She will provide a hand-out with many ideas for you to pursue with your own group, whether it’s five of your quilting buddies, or a larger Guild group. What's in the Box, Diane Steele
This is a fun way to use up the novelty fabric in your stash to make a popular "eye-spy" quilt or a theme quilt. Believe it or not, this quilt is made just the same way as the One-Fabric Kaleidoscope--with 60 degree triangles! You can choose to make it as small or as large as you want too. Supply List (PDF)

We've had a great start for 2012 !
By Jonell: January's workshop, Watercolors Quilts with Batiks, taught by The Pixeladies, was a smashing success!! A huge assortment of batiks were included as part of our class fabric kits and the hardest part was trying to narrow our choices down. LOL Ever have too many choices? Yup, that is just how we felt too. Kris & Deb taught us many tricks to be able to change fabric hues from one gradient to the next. Most of us were able to get our wall quilts completed to the fusing stage. Now onto our decorative stitching and embellishments. Be sure to bring your Watercolor quilt to February general meeting, finished or not. We will have Show & Tell so everyone can see what our class was all about. Be sure to check out our new Facebook pages (http://www.facebook.com/rivercityquiltersguild). I posted pictures of our class and I will be sure to post pics of our finished wall quilts.

It's a New Year... VOLUNTEER

GOT IDEAS?

This is YOUR Guild and we’d like to know what your wish list is for it. Do you know about a great teacher or presenter you would love us to try to book for one of our Guild meetings or workshops? Is there a quilting/sewing/art technique you’ve been dying to learn more about? Do you have suggestions for making our guild programs and workshops better? We’d love to hear from you!
You can jot down your ideas here and drop them off at the Program table at any Guild meeting, or e-mail Michelle Ortiz at mmortiz123@aol.com with your suggestions. Looking forward to hearing your input and continuing to improve our Guild!
