UFO CHALLENGE

WHAT UFOs QUALIFY?
Any quilt project that you had actually started (meaning, at least cutting into some fabric) but which remained unfinished as of January 31, 2009 (this year). Sorry, an untouched stack of purchased fabric is not a qualifying UFO! “Studies,” “experiments,” samples for practicing a technique are not UFOs either, if you never intended them to be completed items. Untouched kits also do not qualify.

HOW TO ENTER
Turn in your “Inventory of UFOs at the February or March Guild meeting, or mail it to RCQG, PO Box 15816, Sacramento, CA 95852 by March 31, 2009. You may also mail it to Paulette Trafecanty, 3159 Miramonte Dr, Sacramento, CA 95833. ENTRY FORM (pdf)

ENTRY FEE: $4.00 (to cover prizes).

CHALLENGE SCHEDULE:

March 31, 2009: Submit your “INVENTORY” of UFOs, keeping a copy for yourself, and pay the fee. (You have eight months to work on them!)
All meetings between the March general meeting 2009 and November 2009. Show and Tell your completed UFOs as you get them done!
November General Meeting 2009: Bring completed UFOs and incomplete ones far enough along to be held up to vie for prizes.

AM I COMMITTING TO COMPLETE ALL MY UFOs BY NEXT NOVEMBER?
NO, but we hope this challenge helps you get going on them again!

AND YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORK ALONE
You can have any kind of help from anyone, including some of UFO-less members.

WHAT ARE POSSIBLE PRIZE CATEGORIES?

Prizes that don’t require completing any UFOs: Having the most UFOs at the start; starting the oldest UFO; inheriting the oldest UFO that someone else started; having the most UFOs still to do, even after a year; having the UFO that has lived in the most states and countries; having the best reason why a UFO languished so long;
Prizes for completed UFOs: Having the most drastic solution to getting a UFO done; having the best solution to getting one done; finishing the most UFOs; and finishing the oldest UFO shown at the November meeting.
