Rami Kim

Two by Two

JANUARY 2007: This trunk show is Rami's new, fun way to show her award-winning pieces. When Rami creates an art-to-wear ensemble she makes matching quilts, bags, and dolls with the same designs and techniques. Over the years she developed so many matching pairs that she wishes to share these fun and beautiful sets, and to talk about how to apply the same techniques and designs to different projects as wearable arts, quilts, dolls and bags.

Rami Kim is a DNA scientist-turned fabric artist/ quilter/instructor known internationally and nationally. She is a 11-time Best of Show winner, distinguished for her innovative art-to-wear.

Her passion is in contemporary art-to-wear, quilts, cloth dolls and bags with special interest in 3-dimensional textures and she is known for her own distinctive colors and techniques.

She graduated from University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) majoring in endocrinology and worked at the Cancer Research Institute at UCSF before her passion and talent in fabric art drastically changed this biochemist's career.

She was invited to the prestigious Fairfield Fashion Show twice and her ensemble named 'Peacock Dream' is traveling for an year with the fashion show.
