Price: Members $35.00; Non-members $40.
Location: 3235 Pope Avenue, Sac., CA (Map)
Registration / Supply List (below)

Learn to appliqué the Piece O' Cake way! You will learn easy template making, how to make and use an overlay for appliqué, and, most importantly, the invisible appliqué stitch. I will help each student to perfect her (or his!) invisible appliqué stitch while working on the following techniques: curves, inner and outer points, cutaway appliqué, reverse appliqué, circles, two-part leaves, and more as time permits. Students perfect their technique while working on an 8" or 10" tulip block that can be made up into the little quilt shown on the supply list below. All skill levels or choose beginner/intermediate or advanced.

Supply List
A 6 hour class on needleturn applique techniques.
Learn to needleturn applique the Piece O’ Cake way in this class for all quilters. You will learn how to do cutaway applique, pointy points, smooth curves, two-part leaves, reverse applique, and circles. You will practice what you learn on a simple 10" tulip block in class.

Book: Optional
The Applique Sampler by Piece O’ Cake Designs

• An ultra fine point Sharpie marker scissors
• A 10” square of clear upholstery vinyl in a medium weight. Keep the tissue paper that comes with the vinyl scissors
• One sheet of clear, heavy weight, self adhesive laminate – available at most office supply stores. I like the JM brand. Get the single-sided sheets, not the 2-sided pouches scissors
• I will supply you with 2 needles and some 1/2" sequin pins for you to try. You will need additional pins. I prefer the 1/2" sequin pins scissors
• I will have some good 100% cotton thread suitable for hand appliqué for you to try. You are welcome to bring your own applique thread. I recommend DMC 50 wt 100% cotton machine embroidery thread, Aurifil 50 wt 100% cotton thread, Mettler 60 wt. 100% cotton, or something similar scissors
• White Chalk Pencil (I like the General’s charcoal pencil in white scissors
