Kim Brownell and Kellie Willie
Kim Brownell "Challenges: What To Do?"
You are calmly sitting in your quilt group enjoying life. Then you hear "The challenge for this year is..." . Does panic set in? Do you want to participate, but not sure what to do next? Learn good ideas on how to approach challenges, where to find them, and why everyone should participate in them.
Biography: Kim calls herself the "Wackydoodle Quilter" because of her easy-going, whimsical style. She doesn’t always follow the rules and tends to ignore the "Quilting Police." It’s a technique that works because she has received awards and recognitions at quilt shows and the California State Fair. Her passion for quilt challenges sparks her imagination by providing inspiration. It’s her dream to inspire you to have fun while learning. Kim is also holding a free lecture on Sunday.
Kellie Willey: "Little Quilts, No Big Deal!"
Have you heard that making a miniature quilt is challenging? Or that you need to be an advanced quilter to even consider making one? During this lecture, Kellie will share with you that it’s no big deal to make a miniature quilt once you know a few tips. She will share what she has learned about making small scale quilts and give you the tools to feel confident enough to create your own.
Biography: Kellie Willey is passionate about making miniature and small-scale quilts by taking large traditional patterns and miniaturizing them using various methods. She has won many awards for her little quilts at local shows, California State Fair, and at the Road to California. She is excited to be an instructor at Empty Spools Seminar at Asilomar in 2020. Kelly is also holding a free lecture on Sunday.
