October Election and Volunteers
Dear River City Quilters’ Guild Members:
Thank you to all those who have volunteered to be on the 2008 Guild Board. We still have additional positions open for 2008. They are as follows: President-Elect, Program Chair, Program Chair-Elect, Quilt Show Chair-Elect, Historian, Neighborhood Circles, and Property. These positions are important to fill, they form the backbone of the guild. I realize that some of these positions are scary and intimidating, but if we do not have people to fill these positions (i.e. the “elect” positions), 2008 could very well be the last year for the River City Quilters’ Guild. Some of you have been with us a long time, some have just joined, and plenty of us have been here for a just a few years. We need people from all of these groups to step up and volunteer to serve. If you don’t want to try a job by yourself, then invite another guild member or two (maybe someone in your quilting circle) to serve in the position together. I would like to also reintroduce Block-of-the-Month or a Fat Quarter exchange, but without volunteers to head up those programs, they won’t happen. Remember, the “elect” positions are training positions, you will have all of 2008 to learn as you prepare to hold the position in 2009. Your Guild needs you, please help.
Thank You, Vickie Carter President in 2008
